This bird loooves to have friends over!
----
This here is an early-on quest I especially enjoyed. Most of my commentary is below with added information on the game, too. Hope you like what you see!
[Food Boosts: +Att Def And Felyne Slugger]
***
(I showed a few clips from my first attempt on this quest: the accepting and the introduction movie of the Qurupeco. Then I cut straight off to my successful attempt against the bird. You can tell 'cause it's suddenly day.)
2:20 - I went over here and away from the quarry because this is the Great Jaggi's lair. He has given me a lot of grief on earlier attempts on this quest, so I wanted to see if I could get rid of him first. No dice.
2:42 - Paintballs are a great way to keep track of the monster when it, or you, makes a retreat. An image appears on the map. I think it is normally just a pink dot, but I have an abiility which gives me more information on what Monsters are up to. (Blue = doing it's own thing. Red = RAHR.)
2:50 - Sonic bombs are used to daze the quarry. It's especially great for interrupting bird-brain's call, here!
3:02 - Fire hurts! As you burn, health drops! You were trained what to do as a kid, right? Stop. Drop. And ROLL!
Big monsters are a TON of hits in this game. What's more is, this guy seems to absorb them pretty well!
5:20 - He called that Great Jaggi, now. I'm fairly new to the multiple-monsters thing, so I just try and play with the two of them. It may have been smarter to try and drive away the Great Jaggi with the dung bombs I have, though.
6:00 - so close, 'cha! He was just about to complete his dance and give me overall buffs!
6:40 - You can see my sharpness drop here, this is why my blows are now reflecting off its backside. (The little sword icon is sharpness, and that white you see there is actually NORMAL sharpness. Green is a bit stronger, and that's what this monster takes!)
7:45 - Bah! JUST missed my trappy! (not sure if he was weak enough, especially after the self-heal)
8:15 - Heat messes around with your health. Fortunately, I have a Cool Drink™. "Brings out the Cool~ in you!"
11:48 - There. he is DEFINITELY weakened, now. I'm not finishing him off, 'cause I want to see if he'll head back to that trap... which disappears as soon as he heads for it. And me with no back up! I set up that shock trap because captures tend to award you more drops from a monster. The Mission may be to slay it, but a capture works, too.
13:50 - WYVERN TEAR. One of the subquests! See, this is why I'm not just totally tearing into him, I want to try n' complete these subqests too, as WELL as capturing him! And with a completed subquest... comes supplies! Back to camp!
14:05 - My paint has run out on bird, and so has the time Great Jaggi has left on this world.
15:40 - You can see me break his frill, here. That's another interesting aspect of this game - you can aim for certain body parts and destroy them. This also increases your chances of getting a drop from that area.
16:55 - Slobber and panting means they are out of stamina which prevents them from using moves/fighting, limping means near death. The monster may try to remedy these problems by eating or sleeping.
17:16 - if you're wondering why I ignore the smaller Jaggi/as, it's because I want to collect the monster carvings and I'm going back to camp to heal anyway.
18:50 - You have to go to camp to deliver/collect items for quests/subquests. Sleeping is nice, as well. and YES. Another pitfall! I think I ate that steak by mistake... it'd have no effect. Cha-Cha gets experience from eating.
20:40 - Off into the wild blue yonder! Dangit.
21:33 - If you hold your wii remote straight up and press A, you pull your sword out. It doesn't happen much, but can interfere with "A" commands if you forget.Though... I think maybe I was testing how to combo into high strikes, here. I'm sick of that bird calling things, but my Great Sword hits so slowly!
23:10 - SUCCESS! Now to put it to sle- GWAH!
Gosh dangit... you'd think a target so big would be easier to hit! Guess I need to back up for the bombs to hit. Well, there goes the capturing idea. I still completed the subquest, though - so I go back to check on the supplies in hopes of more pitfalls.
24:45 - no more! Booooo~! (This taught me to bring trap back ups. You can have ONE of each trap on you, Shock/Pitfall, and in addition to that, 2 trap tools, which allow you to make traps. So, 4 traps max. + the quests "EZ" traps.)
25:32 - Now... the bird... DIES!
26:30 - ...or not
27:15 - Check out my heroic kill! Raaaahr! (With a distraction assist from Cha-Cha!)
Heh, wow. That, uh... I forget it's name. Let's call him Herbie. Herbie sure is giving me a lot of trouble there. I let him live though. 'sides the carving, I wanted to "take a picture" of my feathered friend, here. Say "Cheese!".
Oh, wait...

Wii - Monster Hunter TRI
Qurupeco-
Element: Fire
Weakest to: Ice
I used full leather armour and the Nummingbird hammer.
Relatively easy, similar to the Yian Kut-Ku from MHU but easier in my opinion.
Some notes from monsterhunter.wikia.com/wiki/Qurupeco:
Abilities:
***Mimics the roars or cries of certain monsters, e.g., it can summon aid from Great Jaggi, Rathian, Royal Ludroth as well as Diablos, Deviljho, and Rathalos on higher rank quests. It can also call for help from any monster already on the map.
***Uses the flint like parts of its wings to create sparks of fire, then it charges at its target and creates a massive spark/explosion.
***Spits balls of mucus which causes Defense Decrease.
***Can dance to give health, Defense Up, or Attack Up to itself and/or nearby monsters.
***If staggered during the dance, the buff or heal will instead go to the hunting party, and Qurupeco will drop an item.
***When low on Stamina, its abilities become hindered. It may trip at the end of charges, its calls take longer, and it will taunt more often. It also may fail to produce flames when pounding its flints together. To recover Stamina, it will eat fish from Area 10 (Island) or Area 7 (Sandy Plains).

Dosjagii makes an appearance as well, and as always I do not claim to be good at this or good in this video, I am forced to play on a 2 inch by 2 inch screen in order to record this so in fact I probably suck. Just trying to show off the game in the hopes that more people will notice this excellent game and enjoy it, or at least give someone yet another way to kill some time.
Armor: Qurupecco
