Another SillyGooseTravel production. This time a group of gooses and one gander joined the adventure of cooking Venezuela Hallacas which is a typical Christmas dish. Since one of the goose is from Venezuela, this task as a bit easy, even though we never done Hallacas before. As you can see it took 3 gooses and one gander and 2 days of preparation. The end result was just magic. Like they say in Venezuela " Mis hallacas saben como las de mi mama" and they did taste like my mother's hallacas. She was the one that gave us the recipe. Enjoy the adventure and make sure to see video 2. What Hallacas? In Venezuelan cuisine, an hallaca (alt. spelling, "hayaca") typically involves a mixture of beef, pork, chicken, capers, raisins, and olives wrapped in maize (cornmeal dough), bound with string within plantain leaves, and boiled or steamed afterwards. It is typically served during the Christmas holiday.
