NEWS: The new Smoosh album is out now, it's called 'Withershins' and you can get it at smoosh.bandcamp.com - it's ace. The video for 'Find A Way' from Smoosh's second album 'free to stay'. Here's a glimpse of how the video was made from Mike, Smoosh's dad "The director is the same as who did the la pump video. His name is Ace Norton. As a film maker, you would have loved to see the video shoot. He would have fill ins for where the multiple Asy and Chloe's were to be so it wouldn't look too artificial when the girls were interacting with themselves, and he had a big monitor where you would see like ghost images of Asy and Chloe as they would film on top of a scene where the girls had shot previously. It was really neat to see, and from what I understand it is the same technology whenever in a movie you see something fake, like a dinosaur or explosion or whatever dubbed into a video. And all the shots were done in one building (or on the roof of the building) near Los Angeles. The girls shot the video just beore the rehearsal days with eels for this tour." (less)

Smoosh started as an American indie pop duo, consisting of two sisters, Asya and Chloe. Recently their younger sister Maia joined the band for their Summer 2007 tour. At the time of their first album in 2004, Asya was 12 years old and Chloe was 10. All of their songs are originals with both music and lyrics written by the girls themselves. Maia, then not in the band, provided the cover artwork for their two first albums. They live in Seattle, Washington with their father Mike, their mother Maria, and their younger sisters Maia and Scout. They are, to some extent, protégées of Chloe's drum teacher, Jason McGerr, now the drummer of Death Cab for Cutie. (less)
