Hey guys! It's definitely been a while, but hoping to make it up to you guys here's my latest original song, Checkmate. For the first time in one of my tracks I used a drop tuning - Drop B. I've been pretty busy with Uni work and such that this channel has become less significant to me (I'm not going to lie), so I haven't been keeping on top of things as much as I should have done, but I'm hoping to rectify it with this. This song took me about 4 months to write. I'd originally written a more progressive song, but as time went on I realised how little I knew about writing something this out of my depth, so I thought a bit harder within my limits and came out with this song. Those who've been following me on Facebook will know how I've been feeling a little uneasy about putting a guitar solo in this one, as I'd feared that it wouldn't have been as flowing as my others, so for the last month this song had been sitting without a solo. Fortunately however, one afternoon a flush of creativity drifted over me, and so I did place one in there. Personally, I find this track to be a cross between Lie To Life and The Unseen, but I'm sure that you guys will have your own opinions!
