8 mm film projector, made in SSSR. There is one interesting thing, motor work on 120V~, but bulb work on 220V~. Because that, I use transformer for motor (220V to 120V). When I got this thing, motor doesn't worked, only bulb was OK, so I do some changes on that thing, connector which was for remote control, now is connector for motor power. Now it works good, but I don't have any film for that. (less)

I purchased this Nicholas Powers No 6 Cameragraph projector head off of Ebay. This was manufactured in the 1900's and made in New York. When I received it was dirty and frozen. After extensive cleaning and oiling I got it to move. There is a idler gear between the constant moving film sprockets and the intermediate film sprocket. There were some teeth missing off it so my next thing was to have someone make me a new gear for it. That was sort of expensive but I wanted it to work properly. I received the new gear and it worked perfectly. It had no crank and no lens on it. I had some old Victrola cranks which I modified it to fit. I also had some old lenses that worked out. I also had a lamphouse from a Keystone Moviegraph which provided the light source. I put a 400 watt bulb in that. I made the reel arms, film guides and made a fan belt for it. I mounted everything to a board and here it is. The film I project on it is 35mm safety film from my collection. When I took the footage from the projector for You Tube I had to record it from a angle since I had to crank it. You can get quite a workout, those Projectionist in those days had to work hard. The Picture when you are watching on the screen is clear and look very good. My next step is to motorize it .Thank You for looking. (less)

Just a few clips documenting the process of cleaning up somebody else's messy work. They used a cheaper Bi-Xenon, HID kit, CCFL, and wiring harness that run about 100 bucks. Great for people who are on a budget... not great for people who want custom work with options to choose from. We ditched the old projectors in favor of a set of Mini Morimoto H1 Bi-Xenon Projectors to use for testing. We'll then replace those with a set of FX-R Bi-Xenon Projectors loaded with D2S bulbs and Morimoto Ballasts. The results should be awesome! This was an old cinema projector I acquired together with a few miles of film. I converted the original tungsten sound exciter light to red LED to read the later cyan soundtracks. The original lighting was a 1000 watt xenon which was a bit too powerful at 18' throw so I've concocted a 250 watt halogen conversion salvaged from a disco lighting machine. (less)
