On se bouscule en backstage du défilé Alexander Wang printemps-été 2012. Nous sommes à New York le 10 septembre dernier, les équipes du créateur s'affairent autour des filles, replacent une mèche ou retravaillent un ourlet en toute hâte. Au beau milieu de cette effervescence se tiennent deux jeunes mannequins, Maria Bradley et Lara Mullen. La première arrive tout droit de Wichita au Kansas quand la seconde a grandi en Angleterre, mais pour toutes les deux, ce show est le premier de leur carrière. Après Aymeline Valade la saison dernière, Alexander Wang continue à mettre en lumière les mannequins qu'il choisit pour ouvrir ses défilés à travers une série de chroniques vidéo. Depuis le tournage, Maria Bradley a été vue chez Proenza Schouler et Versace quand Lara Mullen a défilé pour Prada, Dries van Noten ou Givenchy. Mais la véritable émotion est là dans ces quelques minutes prises sur le vif dans les coulisses du défilé Alexander Wang, où les deux jeunes novices reviennent sur ce moment où leur vie a basculé.
